Recall ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Recall spaced repetition training platform, delivered as a Slack application and web dashboard. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Account & workspace data. When you install Recall in your Slack workspace, we receive your Slack workspace ID, team name, and the installing user's Slack profile (name, email, avatar, timezone). We store OAuth tokens necessary to operate the bot.
User profiles. For each workspace member who interacts with Recall, we store their Slack user ID, display name, email address, and timezone as provided by the Slack API.
Quiz & learning data. We store questions, answers, review attempts, response times, and spaced repetition scheduling data (ease factors, intervals, next review dates) to deliver the learning experience.
Uploaded content. If you upload source documents for AI-powered question generation, we temporarily process the document text and store generated questions. Source document text is retained only as long as needed for question generation.
Usage data. We collect basic usage information such as page views on the dashboard and API request logs for operational monitoring and debugging.
All data is stored on Cloudflare's global network using Cloudflare D1 (database), Cloudflare KV (sessions), and Cloudflare R2 (file storage). Data is encrypted in transit via TLS and at rest by Cloudflare's infrastructure. We do not store data on personal devices or unmanaged servers.
We integrate with the following third-party services:
We retain your data for as long as your workspace has Recall installed. When you uninstall Recall from your Slack workspace, we delete your workspace data, user profiles, and quiz history within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Workspace administrators can remove individual users or delete question banks and assignments through the dashboard. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR including data portability and the right to object to processing.
The Recall dashboard uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
Recall is designed for use by businesses and their employees. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify workspace administrators of material changes via Slack or email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
